Title: Reasonable Accommodations
Author: N’Dura
Scene: Brig
Time: Concurrent with “Tending the Garden”
-------------------------------------

It had been ages since she’d seen him last… oh, they were in communication, but he’d been elsewhere on the Indy ever since his promotion… Since then, only brief hallway encounters and short missions. . .

N’Dura took long, purposeful strides on her way to the brig. Her Klingon armor glinted over gleaming targ leather… One could forgive him for not recognizing her at first glance.

“Commander?” he said, his voice betraying surprise.

“Lieutenant?” she replied, surprised out how pleased she was to see him in person.

“Zanh’s letting you out of uniform?” a twinkle in his eye betrayed him.

“Reasonable accommodation.” N’Dura retorted over her shoulder. “How is our guest?”

“He doesn’t find the accommodations all that reasonable.” TC shot back as they parted.

Her boots echoed against the walls of the magnetically electrocharged bulkheads in the brig.

The metal heels clanged against the floor as she approached him.

Corbinsky could hear her approach from around the T Junction. He stood in anticipation. *What fresh hell is this?* he thought to himself.

She did not acknowledge him but sat in a chair, her long legs stretched out in front of her, ankles crossed. She slouched slightly, her eyes barely open.

Though slitted eyes, N’Dura studied her fingertips, paying close attention to the nails which still had a chipped coat of sparkle nail polish so gleefully applied by Lair Arie.

She ignored the prisoner.

Corbinsky stared at the Klingon for a long moment before asking, “So, this is it, you came all the way down here,” he waved his finger in a horizontal circle, “just to babysit me? Do you not trust this…prison?”

N’Dura opened one eye long enough to answer. “No.”

Corbinsky paced his cell for a few moments. “You never … asked a single question… why?” he asked, more to himself than her as he didn’t expect engaging conversation from the Klingon, He had been referring to his “treatment” while in her custody after his capture.

He looked at her wondering if she was sleeping, ignoring him, or pondering the question.

N'Dura looked him straight in the eye. Wasn’t ordered to ask you any questions.” She replied both truthfully and coldly.

Corbinsky shook his head. “I don’t understand. Faustine considers you in such high esteem.”

N’Dura stood and walked over to within inches of her prisoner, So close, she could feel her skin tingle.

Through gritted teeth, she replied, "We all, answer to a higher power, Doctor.”

It was then he noticed the gold cross dangling above her cleavage.

“Indeed we do, Commander, Indeed we do.”
