Title: Damsel in Distress
Author: N’Dura
Scene: Enroute to the Shuttle Bay
Time: Current
She matched her long stride for long stride.
“Chief? You mind filling me in on what ‘special talents you’ll be needin’?” Lt. Faustine Margolis was clearly worried. Field assignments were far and few between for the Operations Officer.
N’Dura stopped abruptly and turned to look Fox directly in the eyes. “There are times, Lieutenant, where the female advantage is integral to the success of the mission.”
It took a moment for the message to sink in. “You want me for my looks?! Fox was close to sputtering.
“I need you for your people skills.” N’Dura replied, resuming her pace towards the shuttlebay. “You’re aesthetic qualities only enhance your natural talents.” It was a bonafide, honest assessment from the Klingon that only lent weight to the truth of the statement. “May I be so bold as to say, it is no wonder that Dr. Corbinsky risks the perils of time travel to pursue you.”
Fox was momentarily humbled. “Why… Thank you Chief.”
“However, I require that you look more… dishevelled for this mission.” N’Dura instructed. “More… of a …”
“Damsel in distress?” Fox finished for her as they stepped into the turboshaft and turned towards the closing doors.
“Affirmative Lieutanant.” N’Dura confirmed.
“I knew it.” Fox crossed her arms in front of her chest, a simmering fume about to begin.

They arrived to the shuttlbay not 5 minutes later.
As the doors opened, a melancholy melody floated in the ionic atmosphere of the shuttlebay. The last notes of an aria from Rodelinda faded on the whoosh of the entrance doors.
Lt. Commander Lair Kellyn, Bajoran by birth, but Human by any other standard, turned to greet the Chief of Security and the stunning ops officer.
“Commander Salvek sez you can have your pick.” Kellyn thumbed over her shoulder.
She walked behind them as N’Dura summed up the shuttle fleet. Finally she selected a rather sorry looking shuttle.
“This will do.”
Kellyn was taken aback. “Uh.. Commander… that shuttle has problems.”
“Perfect.” N”Dura replied,
