------Meanwhile on the bridge.-----

"Mr. Blane," Salvek called TC as soon as the lift doors closed and Simon was gone.

"Go ahead, Sir," TC didn't look at Salvek, but was listening as he poured over sensor data with N'Dura, Margolis and Reece.

"I'm assigning Lt. Commander Reece to your team going after the Captain, as well as any other security officers you may need to mount a rescue attempt." Salvek turned to his wife, who was seated at the engineering station.

"Commander Lair, I believe repairs to the Alchemy have been completed ahead of schedule, have they not?"

"Hey," Kellyn replied, the lopsided smile on her face affirming that they were. "It's me."

"You will need Commander Lair's knowledge of the ship and its camouflage technology, so I'm assigning her to you as well Mr. Blane. You will need to take Lt. Grace along as your navigator."

Salvek noticed February sit up a bit straighter in her seat at hearing she'd been chosen to fly the Alchemy again.

The Vulcan turned to the Klingon security chief next. "Commander N'Dura, you have your choice of any shuttle or a runabout, whatever you feel is better suited for your mission. In addition to Lieutenants Biggs and Margolis feel free to select any other security offers you think you need to effect a rescue. Coordinate with Mr. Blane to prevent any overlap. Does anyone have any questions?"

TC spoke first. “Sir, what is our course of action should Vely resist capture or…” he paused, not wanting to continue, “…he has already harmed the Captain?”

"Arrest him on charges of kidnapping, assault, and theft. . ." Salvek paused, not adding the last but most obvious charge to the list, should the worst have already happened. "He will stand trial before a Federation tribunal and answer for his crimes."

Simon Biggs returned to the bridge without his guests, and approached Salvek. Salvek's eyes gestured toward the ready room and the young lieutenant followed him in.

"You wanted to see me, Sir?"

"I will have you know, Lieutenant, I almost pulled the plug on this entire mission the moment that the Captain vanished." Salvek began, folding his hands and bringing his index fingers to his chin thoughtfully.

"It is illogical for us to involve ourselves in the affairs of worlds at war for the sake of two people. It is also a violation of the last order that our Captain gave to us, which I am sure she will take me to task for later. However,"

Simon's ears perked up at the addition of that last word. "However, Sir?"

"However, I fear that the Federation may already be more involved than we realize, if your father has knowledge that can be extracted and exploited to sway the course of this war. For that reason alone, I have decided to allow this mission to continue. We need to remove any Federation influence from this conflict, if we are able."

"I understand, Sir."

"You are dismissed, Lt. Biggs."Salvek followed Biggs back out onto the bridge.

Just then, Vedek Jariel emerged from the turbolift.[[Sorry it took me so long to get here, I was up to my elbows in the new Rhododendron,]] Jariel explained. [[Mr. Blane called for me, what can I do for you?]]
