Title: Where to Arrive
Author: TC Blane
Scene: Ready Room
Time: During and After “To The Rescue”
“Captain… Mr. Blane and I were on the surface recently… we know the terrain and we can mobilize quickly.” N'Dura offered.
TC glanced out of the corner of his eye at his commanding officer not surprised that she would volunteer herself for the mission and happy that she would have the confidence to know that he would not have an objection to also being involuntarily volunteered.
"Very well. There will be two command teams to oversee the work. Our acting XO Salvek will command the mission overall. His team will consist of. . ." Zanh paused, thinking carefully before answering. "Mr. Blane. K'Pajek. Biggs. Our new friend in Science, Lt. Samson. "
TC found his-self disappointed to not be assigned on N’Dura’s team but he quickly pushed the personal feeling aside and turned his attention to the task at hand. He waited patently for the briefing to complete before turning to N’Dura and giving a “be careful” nod. He then moved to assemble near his team leader, Salvek to receive his orders.

TC stood near the transporter chief looking at the proposed transporter sites. From the telemetry that was coming in from the Indy’s sensors it was not going to be pretty down there. Many of the standard beam sites were no longer safe to use and those that were open were being used to evacuate the injured.
Salvek had placed him in charge with the safety of the away team and the first step was to find a safe place to arrive and to set up shop. TC always took his job seriously and this day was no different. They may be on a rescue mission but they would be no good to anyone if the away team was hurt themselves.
“What is this area here?” TC asked pointing to a location just south of one of the beam points.
The transporter chief hit a button and zoomed the view onto the location on the map that TC was pointing to. “Umm, those are areas of high density rock. Granite mostly. I think these are those bolder formations that over look the towns.”
“What are these light colored streaks?” TC asked as he zoomed in closer.
“Caves. Well mostly caves some are ancient crypts and tunnels.”
TC leaned on the console. “How close are those to the towns?”
The chief smiled understanding where the acting operations chief was going with his questioning. “Close enough to conduct rescue operations from them.”
TC smiled back. “And easy to secure and give shelter from the weather.” His smile faded. “Will there be any issue transporting there?”
The chief shook his head. “Not for me. I’ll get everyone there intact.”
TC nodded and tapped his badge. “Lt. Blane to Commander Salvek I found a transporter location. We are ready to depart at your leisure.”
