Title: Don't Shoot the Messenger
Authors: February Grace/ Lily T'Ana
Scene:Holodeck Four/T'Ana Beach House
Time:Following "Circuit du Soleil"

February Grace removed her hat and glasses. As she passed by the mirror in the hall she noticed that her arms and shoulders were bright red and growled. "I turned the UV rays off for you Bru. You won't burn today. Well I bloody am now!"

For some unknown reason, it seemed that the holodeck settings had changed or fluctuated at some point during the course of the day, leaving the Trill with a toasty sunburn on her exposed body parts.

She rounded the corner and saw Trick London retreating quickly from the kitchen.

"Hey, where do you think you're going?" February snagged him by the sleeve. "You and I need to have a chat."

"Sorry love, people to feed, drinks to make you know all of that. Bye!" Trick declared, running for the door. He was after all half Betazoid and the vibes coming from the kitchen were enough to make even him, as jaded as he was, turn red.

February tried twice to get T'Ana's attention before finally picking up a pot and a large spoon and beating one against another.

"Time out!" She cried, and Lily finally looked up at her.

"February, my dear friend! Are you having a wonderful time? I'm having a wonderful time, Lily smiled at Angus once again.

"That's what I'm afraid of," Grace replied. "I need you for a minute. Sorry Angus, we'll be right back." as she escorted Lily into the powder room around the corner, she mumbled "or not."

"Oh February, I've never been this happy in my life, it's so relaxing here, and we're with such good people."

"Some are better than others," Bru replied. "Listen, honey, we need to talk. You know, that jolt that you and Captain Logic took yesterday? Well it seems that it might have set off some hormonal stuff in you that you might want to consider before you do anything...rash."

"What do you mean rash?" she watched as February jerked her thumb in the direction of the kitchen.

"Oh, you mean me and Angus? Come on February, you know that things have been getting interesting between us for a while now. It just took until today for things to get really interesting. I just feel so comfortable around him, he makes me feel safe. I hope that this is the start of something really special."

"It might be the start of a biochemical reaction brought on by the application of electrical current thus completing a telepathic circuit between you and someone with far more Vulcan DNA than you have!"

"Yeah, um, what?" Lily replied "February, you're babbling."

"No, I'm not. Listen to me. You're a scientist. You have to know that you might not be thinking as clearly as one should be before making major decisions."

"Does anyone in love ever think clearly?" Lily asked, "February, I know you're concerned about me and I love you for that. But this is no mere biochemical mishap. I'm in so far already, I just have to see what happens next."

"I just hope that you don't regret this tomorrow."

"Even if I do," Lily replied, "At least I will have been really happy today."

"In other words..."

"In other words. . ." Lily said with a broad grin, and a maniacal giggle, "What the hell!"

Lily hugged her best friend and then disappeared back into the kitchen.

February decided that now was the perfect time for her to go and find her shoes.
