Maak replayed the sub-space communication again, wanting to be sure he’d heard correctly before he destroyed it as sensitive.

Admiral Kelly’s image again rested on the antique roll top oak desk with a sleek LCARS unit attached Maak had managed to salvage from Arcadia during the chaos of the evacuation.

[Report to Trill. Assist retrieval of team. See attached. Transport arriving soon. Code 285647. Urgent. All.]

Admiral Kelly grinned wildly at Maak from across the virtual gulf between them.

His image was really only sent along with the communique as proof of authenticity, but Maak was sure Kelly was trying to tell him something else. Something not included in the attached briefing.

Why send a transport ?

Maak sighed, as he’d done often these past months.

He picked up the communication packet, intended to be fully decoded after departure and tucked it into the top pocket of his day jacket.

“Computer secure delete all files.”

Maak smiled. Now he thought the computer was trying to tell him something.

Taking the computers request seriously, Maak considered one more time, did he really want to scuttle all the various files and information he had accumulated on Arcadia?

Yes, he decided.

“Computer. Confirm. Delete all files for Maak juHmaak. Secure delete.”

Maak finished his drink off with a toss.

“Working, indeed. By the Great Bird of the Galaxy what am I getting into?”

The Klingon laughed out loud, suddenly filled with an enthusiasm he used to only feel at harvest time on his worm farm on Q'noS.

“Well, computer, let me know when you do. Because you know what could happen?"

The computer has sense enough recognize rethoric so Maak answered his question for it.

"Why, ANYthing! That's what."

Silently, the computer accepted that as an axiom.
