The surprise party had been a blast. Everyone had seemed to enjoy themselves, especially the two guests of honor. And Fox had to give credit where it was due: it was hard to keep surprises.

She had thrown a surprise party once in her life. She was 16, and her best friend at the time, Jennifer, was about to turn 17. So, Fox decided to give her a surprise party.

The plan was simple enough. On the day of Jennifer's birthday, the local theaters were re-releasing a comedy from the late 20th century: Austin Powers: The Spy Who Shagged Me. Jennifer loved that series and was thrilled at the opportunity to get to see the movie in the theatre.

So Fox had arranged the day off from her modeling shoot and took Jennifer to see the movie. They had a blast. But while the girls were out, friends of Jennifer's were arriving at Fox's house to prepare for the surprise party. With great amusement now, Fox remember how after the movie she had kept calling home to ask her mother if everyone had arrived and everything were set up for the party. And Fox was so surprised that Jennifer never guessed that something was up.

But Jennifer did not know what was going to happen. She just went along with Fox's plans, which after the movie meant a little shopping at nearby boutiques and then returning to Fox's house so that she could receive her birthday present from Fox.

The two girls arrived at the house, and boy was Jennifer surprised (and was Fox relieved that her simple plan for a party had worked)!

Years later, the party was still a source of amusement for the two friends who, although their careers had taken them on different paths, had always stayed in touch with one another and remained good friends.

It was a happy memory, and Fox was glad that this most recent party on the Independence had revived a fond personal memory.

Now in her quarters, resting after all of the dancing and other revelry, she began to wonder where Jennifer was now. On Earth, she knew that much. Flopping down on her bed. Fox began to plot, wondering with the ship's side trip to Earth coming up, if and how she could arrange a visit...
