Title: What The Devil?
Author: Michael Windsor
Scene: Main Bridge
Time: Following "Glitches" By RJ Gilmore
------------------------------------------
Several days had passed since Michael explained to the CMO about his past "lifetime" as William Gilbert, his first "lifetime" as a Medical Professional - but not his last lifetime as one. The Doctor seemed to accept the fact that according to Starfleet Medical Records, he is still a registered General Practitioner, albeit under several different aliases, over several millennia.
Michael panned his vision across the bridge from the Security /Tactical Console, with the shortage of Tactical Officers at this stage Bravo and Charlie Bridge Security Officers doubled as the Duty Tactical Officer. Michael looked around. An Ensign in gold at the Helm, a Crewman at Operations doubling as Engineering, and a Crewman at Science controlling Operations and Engineering Scanners as well, with the only familiar face on the bridge being Acting Captain Zanh.
"Hey Windy, Status" Said the Acting Captain in a playfully bored tone.
"1800 and all is well, Sir." Replied Michael in an equally excited tone.
[Gilmore to Zanh, I don't know what the engineers just disconnected, but tell them to put it back. Now.]
"Is there a problem, Sir?"
[Yes. Holodeck four is malfunctioning, with our people inside.]
"Aye Sir,"
"Well all was well, Windy," said the Captain looking at him with a 'bugger why did I ask' look on her face.
"Crewman Williams, what can you tell me" Asked Zanh as she headed towards the Operations/Engineering crewman.
"W-w-well Captain, I can tell you that Holodeck Four is registering a malfunction, ummm. But I err- I do not know why. I think it err umm has," *sigh* "something to do with a power ummm increase spike I think Captain." Fumbled out the crewman, who was projecting a great deal of fear, concern and dread.
"Right. Thanks Crewman." Said the Captain in an unsettled tone
Tapping her combadge, and turning 180° "Engineering, this is the Bridge, what the hell has happened to the Holodecks?"
The Captain waited for a reply, as did the rest of the bridge, with much anticipation, however there was no reply at all.
"Right. I'm going down there, Windy, mind the store"
"Captain, don't you think your place is on the Bridge?"
"How are your engineering skills Lieutenant?"
"Yes, well, have a good trip Captain!" Said Michael, smirking.
[Bridge to Security Teams 1 though 4, Teams 1 and 2 meet the Captain at the Turbo Lifts to Main Engineering, Teams 3 and 4 Secure the area around Holodeck Four]
[1 Aye, 2 Aye, 3 Aye, 4 Aye]
Several minutes later the turbo-lift doors opened, and Michael saw a middle aged man standing there in a Medical/Science Green Dress Uniform.
"Who, Sir," Windsor asked, "are you?"
